Many of you told us you wanted to talk about podcasts, so…happy holidays! On Wednesday, December 10, from 5:30-7:30 PM, join us at ScienceOnlineDC as we take a look at the role of podcasts in the world of online science communication.
As mainstream media outlets have reduced the amount of airtime devoted to science, podcasts have come to fill an increasingly important role in broadcasting science stories. Ranging from fun, kooky story shows to serious news reports, podcasts bring the entire spectrum of science into the public sphere. We will discuss their effectiveness in communicating science and how their proliferation has affected dialogue about science.
Cynthia Graber (Gastropod, 60 Second Science) and Dorea Reeser (The Collapsed Wavefunction) will be joining us virtually to discuss their experiences with podcasting. We also want all of you to be part of the discussion, so come with your own questions, stories, and insights about podcasting.
